Good Morning Friends! It's my birthday today and I'm getting a few minutes to play in my craft room before the day starts. I opened my email to find a birthday wish from the A Day For Daisies Club and attached was this darling little ladybug nymph. I couldn't resist coloring her up (with copics) and making a birthday card with her :) I made an easel card using this fab tutorial by Charlotte de Zwart on CDAC and I modified it by cutting a window in it with a circle nestabilities. Then, using Cricut cartridge elegant edges, I made the frame and the card bottom. I fussy-cut the image and placed her on craft plastic - this looks so lovely with the morning light shining through! I tried to get a photo of that but my photography stinks - boo hoo! LOL!
If you are interested in joining the ADFD club, please check it out HERE. It is a really sweet deal!
So I have already gotten my birthday present - it's a GORGEOUS pink sapphire ring. I *love* pink and have been searching for the perfect "pink" sapphire. Mostly I've seen them hot pink but I'm so glad I held out because I was able to get a natural stone in baby pink!!
And...thanks to my wonderful sister, Shelly, and darling niece, Lauren, I have Michael's gift cards burning a hole in my pocket! tee hee! There are so many awesome embellies I have been wanting -- I tell myself no more embellies until I use up (at least a good portion) of what I have but oh boy, that is tough when I see all those sparkly things - ha ha!
Well, I'm hoping to knock out another card so I'm off. I hope your day is lovely!!! <3 Lisa

Hooray for Lisa!! Happy belated birthday and congrats on being SPOTLIGHTED over on CDAC. Your birthday present is awesome! I remember when I bought my pink star sapphire ... it was a present to ME when I finally got a good job (way back when). When my daughter graduated high school, I gave it to her and now she wears it every day just like I did.
ReplyDeleteYour creations and blog look awesome! And I LOVE THIS CREATION ...great job! I've done regular sized easel cards but never this size ... thanks for inspiration!
AND ... if you're interested, I have some pretty cool SPRINGTIME BLOG CANDY going on through Memorial Day over on my blog. Please stop by and check it out! Have a great day Lisa!!
