New Releases from A Day For Daisies! More Gorgeous Vintage Images...

I am in love with these vintage images!  I used "Vintage School Girl Four."  You can find them all HERE.  I used copics to color the face and hair and I paper pieced the blouse (Paper Pizazz), and hat (chestnut velvet paper). I layered Prima paper flowers for the embellishment on the hat.  I used Webster's Papers dp from the Hollywood Vogue collection for the oval background (SB Labels 10) and Bazzill cardstock, embossed with Cuttlebug folder, Grace's Frame, behind the oval.  I also popped the framed image with foam dots.  I added strips of Bazzill cardstock edge-punched with MS arch lattice and ribbon.  The pearls on the frame and flower center came from Quixotic Paperie as a free gift with purchase :)

Have you ever noticed that work weeks with only four days seem to go by more slowly than a regular work week?  This week has definitely seemed that way and I am ready for some crafty therapy!  I hope your weekend is wonderful! <3 Lisa

Doodle Pantry Challenge #8

Please click HERE if you are looking for the A Day For Daisies BLOG HOP!

A new challenge started yesterday at Doodle Pantry.  The theme is SPARKLE and BLING!  Everyone loves that, right?  So pull out those pearls, charms, glitter and other fun accents, and show us your sparkle and bling!

For my card, I used a Doodle Pantry image from "Clover Patch Ants."  He's colored with copics.  The "Lucky" sentiment is a Studio G clear stamp.  I embossed it with Ranger embossing powder, "enchanted gold."  Unfortunately my pic doesn't show it's pretty gold sheen!  The metallic shamrocks were part of a floral spray from Michael's and I cut them apart and embellished them with rhinestones.

You can submit projects using any DIGITAL image.  Of course we would LOVE to see what you can do with Doodle Pantry Images! :)   Doodle Pantry offers some wonderful freebies if you would like to try one at no cost! You can browse the freebie page HERE.  I do hope you'll give the challenge a try!

Have a great week! <3 Lisa

THIS kind of HaPpY !!

***If you are looking for the A Day For Daisies Blog Hop, please scroll down, down down :)! ***

I have some wonderful news to share!!!  I have been selected for the design team for Doodle Pantry!  (here's the official announcement)  I'm so excited and happy to be a part of this team.

Doodle Pantry has a wide selection of digi stamps from darling realistic animals to beautiful flowers and landscapes; as well as whimsical illustrations, such as sweet little birdie images (as seen in the badge and below in my card) and cute little industrious ants (which I plan to feature here soon).   *So* to celebrate this happy news, I created a card especially for the occasion using "Bird Bath Joy" -- isn't this little guy just adorable!?  The sentiment - "Wishing you THIS kind of happy!" - is just brilliant!  Laurie Wilson, the artist behind Doodle Pantry, captures this little birdie's joy perfectly don't you think!?

A few quick things to let you know about Doodle Pantry -- there are new releases every 5th and 20th of the month (**so today is a new release day!**)  AND there is also a Challenge Blog so you will want to check it out and play along!  Doodle Pantry is also at CDAC.  I will be sure to post links on my sidebar as well :)

Finally, I just want to send a huge Thank You to you, Laurie, for this tremendous opportunity.  I am honored to work with your images!

What a terrific way to start the week!  <3 Lisa

Diaper Cakes!

Hi Everyone!  Hope your weekend is going great!

***If you are here for the A Day for Daisies Blog Hop, please scroll down :)  It goes through February 24th so you have time to hop at your leisure. ***

I have a couple of baby shower diaper cakes to share with you today.  February 19th ended up being a popular date for baby showers for me and it worked out pretty cool - one for a girl and one for a boy!

Here is the first:  This one has over 150 diapers and I wrapped the layers with items that matched the nursery theme (Babies R Us Jacana by Cocalo) and other assorted baby items with matching colors! I used my Cricut Create a Critter cartridge to make the animals that decorate the three layers.

The second cake is for the Dr. Seuss themed  baby shower I did the invitations for (I posted them a few weeks ago!)  The cake is bigger than my picture box so sorry about the photo.  The mommy-to-be requested guests to bring a book for the baby's library so I really caught a break when I found the cute tiny Dr. Seuss books at Marshals! The other Dr. Seuss items came from Michael's - again, another break for me!  This cake has over 120 diapers.
These are always so much fun to make and they're a great way to add to your party decor but in a useful way!  I love things that are dual-purposed like that :).   When I'm hosting a baby shower, a diaper cake is always part of the party decor and when I make one for someone to give as a gift,  I am over-the-moon when I hear it was also used as a centerpiece!

I wanted to post a couple more I have made in the past.  Please excuse the lousy pictures; they were taken before I ever imagined having my own blog ;)  and before I had a better camera and light box.

These two were a couple of my favorites.  The teddy bears I used for the topper were ones that had information included with them for registering the baby's name on a star.  I just love that idea!

Well, I'm off now to work on some invitations for a 2nd birthday :)  Hope your weekend is wonderful!

I used A Day for Daisies image, "A Few Frogs" so stinkin' cute!  You can find here here.  She is colored with copics and I used metallic papers to mat the image as well as paper piece her dress.  I used a metallic pen to color her crown.  The pretty little embellishment in the corner is from Webster's Pages.
