I made this card for the Bella Digi Studio Challenge #3. Here is another Little Wings image - Flit & Pickle - I just love her :)

I used a Bazzill A7 card and modified it into a "window" easel card. The card face is Bazzill cardstock, lily pond. I cut the tulips using my Cricut and the Walk in My Garden cartridge. I colored Pickle with a combination of Copic and Bic Mark It markers; Flit's body is colored with a green Souffle marker. Both Pickle's and Flit's wings were printed on transparency paper and glittered with Stickles and then cut out and adhered to the body. The printed paper is DCWV (Mariposa stack). The sentiment is from a DCWV rub-on set (I got on clearance from A C Moore). The pearls are from Michael's from the $1 bin.

For My Dad

This is for my Dad. I couldn't find a more appropriate sentiment for him; he is absolutely my hero. The image is a digital image from Squigglefly.com so I printed it on a few different types of paper - velvet (for the couch), adhesive cotton (for the little girl's tights), printed paper (for the girl's dress), and Beckett cardstock to color the faces and hair with Copics and Prismacolor pencils. The sentiment is a $1 stamp from AC Moore (stamped with Inkadinkdoo ink!). The background printed paper is DCWV neutrals and all is on Bazzill cardstock (french vanilla).

I love you Dad; you are the best.

Sending Out A Little Angel...

My sister, brother-in-law, and my niece (and the pups - Atom, Mimmzee, and Luke!) are on their way from Indiana to visit me here in Virginia. It's a 13 hour drive - UGH! - and a little over half way here, they started having car trouble :( So, I am sending out prayers that they can get here safe and sound. It seemed like a good time to post my angel card!

The image is a digital stamp by an incredible artist, Tammy Thompson, who graciously makes her art work available in digi form on Etsy.com, at A Day for Daisies. Check it out! I used Pearl Ex on her gown, tinsel glitter on her wings, Copic markers, gold Stickles for her halo, and a blue Souffle pen for the blue bird. The image is layered between craft plastic to make it look like she's floating in the Heavens! I used a Bazzill A7 card and the pearl layer is from American Crafts. The cloud printed paper is something I've had for a really long time although I know I see it at the craft stores all the time. I unfortunately do not know where the ribbon came from. I really like it and want to replenish my stash! The tiny ribbon flower is by Offray.

So! In the time it has taken me to post this, my sister called and they are under two hours away!!! I'm going to keep sending out the prayers and can't wait to see them pull in the driveway :)

Bella Studio Challenge!

This my entry for the Bella Studio Challenge this week. I cannot get enough of this little pixie! She is part of the Little Wings Collection and her name is Pickles--isn't she just adorable!? Find her here!

I used Bazzill Bling cardstock and my Cricut Wild Card cartridge to cut out the circle card, sentiment, and flower border. I placed a strip of dandelion grosgrain ribbon horizontally across the card behind the flower border. The flower centers are embellished with $1 rhinestones from Michael's. Pickles is colored with a combination of Copic markers, Bic Mark It markers, and chalk. I used a Glaze pen for her hair and she's wearing a lavender vellum dress. Her wings got a coating of Stickles star dust and her banner is made from letter beads from WalMart. I used Pop Dots to affix her to the card.

Card for Phindy's Place Challenge #9 - One for the Girls!

Here is my entry to Phindy's challenge this week. Phindy's Place has some precious digital stamps and the challenge this week was to create a girly, feminine card or project. The image I chose is "The Big Girl's Class" (find it here). How perfect is that!? I couldn't think of anything more feminine or girly than ballet!

I made an easel card using a Bazzill A7 card, Bazzill cardstock (card top half - tutu pink) and the adorable ballerina-printed paper is by Stemma, "ballerinas (style #171484)". I created the tutu on the bottom half of the card by pleating white vellum (using my Scor It) and then layering lavender vellum over top. I used an MS scallop edge punch on the lavender vellum also. The rosettes are by Offray (so is the pink satin ribbon). The sentiment is by Cloud 9 Designs, clear epoxy quote stickers. MS rhinestones hold the top half of the card in place.

I colored the image using a combination of Copic markers, Prismacolor pencils, and Lyra (skin tones) pencils. I used Doodlebug chunky glitter (cupcake) for the little girl's tutu and Stickles star dust glitter for the picture edge. Such a sweet image!

I entered this card in Mo's Digital Challenge #35 (here). It's a modified easel card --modified with a window so light can shine through all those lovely popsicles! The digital image is Mo's Pool Party (find it here) and it features Bella and Bronte all ready for the pool. When I first saw it, it reminded me of when I was a kid and my sister and I would get invited to go swim at a friend's grandmother's house (Shell, do you remember that!?). It was so exciting to get all of our swim gear on and the anticipation of that clear, cool water was just grand! I swear that pool water was just as sparkly as the paper on this card! I also remember loving "snack time," when we would have to get out of the pool and out of the sun for a bit. We'd get to have popsicles, fruit snacks, or cheese puffs. Such a great memory! So, the card is made up of all those little details of that memory. The popsicle overlay is by Momenta; the yellow and turquoise glitter paper comes from DCWV Citrus Paper Stack and I used a Martha Stewart scallop border punch for the water, the 'window' was cut using SB Big Scalloped Square nestie and the beach ball and sentiment comes from a sticker sheet by All My Memories called "Summer". Behind the scenes, I used white cardstock and tacky tape to put everything together.

I used both Copic markers and Bic Mark Its for coloring; and, after looking a little closer at Bronte, I realized I used Prismacolor pencil too! A little Stickles on Bella's flops gave them a little bling.

Beach or Bust!

A couple years ago, my sister and I (and the families) vacationed at the Outer Banks, NC. It was the best vacation ever. Whenever I see this image (by Emerson Quillin, purchased here), it reminds me of that week at the beach - away from work and the daily grind -- just relaxing with my sister in the sun. It's time for another beach trip for sure. I used a combination of Copic markers and Prismacolor pencils to color the image and I used a mixture of acrylic white paint and flock to make the foam on the waves. I love how that turned out!

Leaping For Joy!

That's me today - I finally started my own blog! I am commemorating this momentous occasion by sharing a tent card I made featuring a digital stamp by Maurie J. Manning from Mo's Digital Pencil Too. Mo Manning is a children's book illustrator and I am in *love* with her images! The image for this card is called "Spring Fairy Puddle" (you can find it here). I combined it with another digital image from Squigglefly.com called "Water Lilly" (you can find it here). I used Bazzill cardstock (bling) and used a mix of Prismacolor pencils (blending done with gamsol), Copic markers and Bic Mark It markers. I 'McGuyvered' (crafted) a "lift" out of craft plastic to pop up the Spring Fairy and make it look like they are leaping over the lily pads!
