Hello Kitty Baby Shower!

Whew!  I finished the baby shower invites; all 30 of them!  I need to get these out tomorrow so I am really excited I pulled this off :) When I took the job, I knew I was already working against the clock but sometimes, the cause is worth the challenge.  I love boxed sets of invites.  I used to use them all the time -- until I got my Cricut and found Bazzill cardstock :) -- but the quick turnaround on these called for some shortcuts.  I still scour the craft stores for clearance sets and that's how I found the one used here.  They are pink polka dot cards with matching envelopes and sheer ribbon.   I got this set of 50 for $1.99 -- that's awesome! And then I re-purposed them with a vellum overlay (details are computer-generated) and Hello Kitty diecut (cut by my Cricut and Hello Kitty Greetings Cartridge).  I decided upon a Hello Kitty theme when I saw her DARLING nursery set from Babies R Us -- see it HERE.  Oh that little Hello Kitty puppy is just too cute!   So, now that I have the invites finished, I
am going to work on favors and a banner; luckily I have a little more time to get those things finished and I will share them as soon as they are complete! :)  Have a good week :)  <3 Lisa

Oh My! Minnie Mouse Birthday Party

Happy Wednesday Everyone!  I am so behind in my posting and I thought I'd squeeze this in before the weekend.  I mentioned a few posts back that I was working on invitations and favors (didn't get to the banner!) for a Minnie Mouse-themed little girl's 2nd birthday party and here they are!  I didn't have a lot of time so, using my Cricut and a couple of cartridges - Tags, Bags & More, and Disney's Mickey and Friends - I whipped up these little boxes with Minnie faces.  I made them to match the invitation by using the same paper and my favorite little touches - flocked noses and the pretty pink polka-dotted ribbon!  Hope the rest of your week is great!  <3 Lisa

Tiny Music Box Dancer

*This is the second post for today so if you are looking for info about the new challenge at A Day For Daisies, please scroll down.*
The new releases from A Day For Daisies this week are all ballerinas and they are gorgeous! I used "jewelry box ballerina" for my card. I couldn't get Frank Mills' Music Box Dancer (listen here) out of my head so that's what I decided to call her.

I colored the image with copics. The ballet slippers got a layer of Liquid Pearls in petal pink. To give her tutu dimension, I layered vellum beneath. I used Bazzill cardstock in Tutu Pink to create 5" x 7" card but cut an additional 3" off the card front to add the pleated vellum skirting. Of course I couldn't imagine making a ballerina card without pink ribbon ;) so I finished it off with two big satin bows.

Card for Phindy's Place Challenge #9 - One for the Girls!

Here is my entry to Phindy's challenge this week. Phindy's Place has some precious digital stamps and the challenge this week was to create a girly, feminine card or project. The image I chose is "The Big Girl's Class" (find it here). How perfect is that!? I couldn't think of anything more feminine or girly than ballet!
I made an easel card using a Bazzill A7 card, Bazzill cardstock (card top half - tutu pink) and the adorable ballerina-printed paper is by Stemma, "ballerinas (style #171484)". I created the tutu on the bottom half of the card by pleating white vellum (using my Scor It) and then layering lavender vellum over top. I used an MS scallop edge punch on the lavender vellum also. The rosettes are by Offray (so is the pink satin ribbon). The sentiment is by Cloud 9 Designs, clear epoxy quote stickers. MS rhinestones hold the top half of the card in place.
