New ADFD Challenge - SECRET ingredients!

There's a new Challenge starting today at A Day For Daisies, and it's a challenge with a fun twist!  There are "Secret ingredients" each of the design used and you will need to discover what they are and use them in your card!  Isn't that fun!?   But sure to click on my pic so you can examine it closely ;)

My card features new release image, "Water Play," and she is colored with copics.  I created the ocean water this little sweetie is splashing in by mixing Pearl Ex with Glossy Accents, Glitter Snow (for a little foam) and Mudd Puddles sand paste.  The paper is from Cloud Nine Designs called Sea Side.  So have you guessed what the SECRET ingredients are yet!?  Be sure to visit the blogs of my fellow DT members  (there are links on the side of my blog!)  Our July Guest Designer, Audrey (aka Hippieaud) is in on it too :)  So you will want to visit her blog too!

Good Luck!

I also wanted to let you know about a wonderful interview with Tammy - the artist behind A Day For Daisies - on Janna's Blog (fellow DT member!).  It is a wonderful opportunity to learn about Tammy and her inspirations (and a peek into her creative space!!).  You will definitely want to check it out!

Happy Crafting! <3 Lisa

Wee Memories Scrappy Saturday Challenge #62!!

Happy Saturday All!  It is time for a new challenge over at Wee Memories.

Our sponsor this week is Stamps of Life.
The theme is clean and simple - CAS

For my CAS card, I used A Day For Daisies digital image, Lemon Fairy.  It's colored with copics and then, I added texture to the lemon using a Fiskars texture plate.  The sentiment reads, "When life gives you lemons, make lemonade and drink it up."  The sentiment is a Studio G clear stamp (for a $1!).   I fished the ribbon out of a Michaels $1 ribbon bin :)

I hope you will come play along with us at Wee Memories!!

Have a lovely weekend! <3 Lisa

Happy Birthday Jenna

My daughter's birthday is today! Here is her card ( I know - maybe it's a little young for her but what girl doesn't like roses and fairies in their favorite colors? And anyway, since she will always be my little girl, she understands. Right Jen? ;)

I used a rubber stamp by Faerie Song Art Stamps and her name is "Bryony." I purchased her from Susana's Custom Art and Card Design.
She is colored with Copics and her wings are coated with Smooch illuminate and star dust Stickles. I also stamped them twice and cut out a second pair so I could pop them up and give it a 3D effect. I cut out the image using Nestabilities Label 10. Jenna's favorite color is yellow, so I cut a 5X7 card from Bazzill Grasscloth cardstock, in African Daisy. I used a piece of printed paper from the DCWV Garden Party Stack, cut using Nestabilities curved rectangles as a matte for the image. I added flourishes, cut using my Cricut Expressions and the Home Decor cartridge.

The tiny yellow paper roses are by Recollections. The sentiment is a Sizzix embossing folder, Birthday set #3, and I used American Crafts pearlized paper then fussy-cut it out. The ribbon and rhinestones are from my stash.

I wanted to include the close-up of the image because I think it is really beautiful. Those eyes are so pretty (and I've colored them just a blue as Jenna's)! Such a sweet, sweet face.

Jenna, on this day 22 years ago, I held you for the first time. I knew at that moment my life was forever changed --changed in a wonderful way. I have watched you grow into a beautiful young woman but the eyes of the part of my heart you claimed this day 22 years ago always sees you as that tiny, beautiful, perfect little pink bundle of joy. I want so many things for you; and I do remind myself constantly to be careful not to put upon what I want for you but rather to accept your choices and trust what you want and what makes you happy. After all, your happiness is all I ever wanted.

I love you, precious girl. I hope your day was wonderful.
