A Day For Daisies Flower Basket Challenge #2

The second challenge at A Day For Daisies is to create something using the theme "Let's Celebrate!" After seeing ADFD's delectable cupcakes, (you can purchase the whole collection or individually, "This & That," in the shop) it wasn't hard to decide what image I would use! I chose "cupcake sprinkles."

Here are the card details:

I used DCWV Citrus cardstock stack and made a 5.5" x 5.5" easel card. Using Nestabilities big scalloped squares (large), I cut a window so that when I use the printed acetate by Momenta (I used "Birthday" for this card) the light can shine through it! I framed the window using teal foil (DCWV Citrus stack) cardstock, embossed with CB 5" x 7" polka dots embossing folder. The "Party" sentiment is Me & My Big Ideas Urban Bling (I bought it at AC Moore for $1).

I printed the image twice; once on Bazzill silver cardstock and once on Beckett Expression Radiance 80 lb cardstock. I cut the cupcake "cup" and scored it using my Scor-It. The "cake" part of the cupcake was run through my Xyron and then covered with a mixture of Stampendous white flock and Doodlebug sugar glitter (in lily white). I pieced the image together and then topped with brightly-colored bugle beads. Once the card was finished, I popped up the image so that it holds the top of the easel card in place.

The sentiment across the lower half of the card is by American Crafts (Rub-on Mini Marks, Celebration Book Two) and I added foil confetti (Mrs. Grossman's sticker confetti).

Dreams Do Come True

This digital stamp, Dreams Do Come True, from A Day for Daisies, is another beautiful and delicate image by Tammy Thompson. I am in love with her work! She will be opening a new shop September 1, 2010, A Day for Daisies! I cannot wait!

I colored the image with copics and her glass slipper is coated with Glossy Accents (with a little star dust Stickles mixed in). I used pop dots to pop her up on the card. I created the gleam around the shoe by using a fireworks burst sticker, cutting it down to size and then mounting it on a scrap of transparency, and then gluing it to the back of the shoe. The card is an A7 Bazzill cardstock card and the printed cardstock is from the DCWV Luxury paper stack. The ribbon is American Crafts and the charm is from Janlynn "A Bead At A Time" line, see it here, but they are also available at A.C. Moore (that's where I bought mine). Finally, the sentiment is a sticker from a Disney's Cinderella clear sticker sheet.

Leaping For Joy!

That's me today - I finally started my own blog! I am commemorating this momentous occasion by sharing a tent card I made featuring a digital stamp by Maurie J. Manning from Mo's Digital Pencil Too. Mo Manning is a children's book illustrator and I am in *love* with her images! The image for this card is called "Spring Fairy Puddle" (you can find it here). I combined it with another digital image from Squigglefly.com called "Water Lilly" (you can find it here). I used Bazzill cardstock (bling) and used a mix of Prismacolor pencils (blending done with gamsol), Copic markers and Bic Mark It markers. I 'McGuyvered' (crafted) a "lift" out of craft plastic to pop up the Spring Fairy and make it look like they are leaping over the lily pads!
