Wee Memories Scrappy Saturday Challenge BLOG HOP!
Welcome to the Wee Memories Scrappy Saturday Challenge Blog Hop! I am very excited to be a guest designer for the month of July - Awesome! If you have arrived here from Jenny's blog, then you have started in the right place and you are on your way :)
The sponsor for this challenge is THERE SHE GOES
...you will definitely want to check out their July Release Bundle ;)
The prize is a $25 Gift Certificate
The theme for the challenge is Summertime!
Here is a little "summertime" inspiration to send you on your way:
The NEXT STOP is ANITA's Blog, Crafty Girl Designs!
Nothing is more "summertime" to me than heading to the seashore. It's funny, I didn't see the ocean until I was 25 but now that I have, it is the thing about summer I love the most :)
The image is a clear stamp from Belles & Whistles, "tube wear," and she's colored with copics. I cut out the image and placed her on a background of cloud-printed paper and created the beach using Mudd Puddles sand paste. The ocean water was created by mixing Pearl Ex into Glossy Accents. I used UTEE on the inner tube because I wanted it to look shiny like those cute blow up rings with the bright patterns! I also dipped Prima paper flowers and the tiny fish embellishments (made from a paper punch) into UTEE. The card is Bazzill cardstock.
Happy Hopping! <3 Lisa

Make a Wish!
Hello All! I'm just popping in to share this cute Birthday Birdie card. This week is going to be crazy busy --I'm looking so forward to the weekend and the July 4th holiday so I can rest - *giggle*!
Anyway, this darling little birdie is from Doodle Pantry (HERE). I printed the image twice and colored it with copics and then layered his wings and those cute chubby cheeks :) I made the party hat from foil and iridescent paper (it's topped with a turquoise Dew Drop). I "frosted" the cupcake with Aileene's snow and then sprinkled with bugle beads. The cupcake cup was cut from foil also. The sentiment is a Sizzix embossing folder. <3 Lisa

Hello Kitty Baby Shower!
Whew! I finished the baby shower invites; all 30 of them! I need to get these out tomorrow so I am really excited I pulled this off :) When I took the job, I knew I was already working against the clock but sometimes, the cause is worth the challenge. I love boxed sets of invites. I used to use them all the time -- until I got my Cricut and found Bazzill cardstock :) -- but the quick turnaround on these called for some shortcuts. I still scour the craft stores for clearance sets and that's how I found the one used here. They are pink polka dot cards with matching envelopes and sheer ribbon. I got this set of 50 for $1.99 -- that's awesome! And then I re-purposed them with a vellum overlay (details are computer-generated) and Hello Kitty diecut (cut by my Cricut and Hello Kitty Greetings Cartridge). I decided upon a Hello Kitty theme when I saw her DARLING nursery set from Babies R Us -- see it HERE. Oh that little Hello Kitty puppy is just too cute! So, now that I have the invites finished, I
am going to work on favors and a banner; luckily I have a little more time to get those things finished and I will share them as soon as they are complete! :) Have a good week :) <3 Lisa

Hippo Birthday!
So after the "no pink" challenge over at A Day For Daisies, I had to get some pink on and this aDoRaBLe ballerina hippo, HIPPORAY!, from Doodle Pantry was the perfect image to rock the pink :D I colored her up with copics but decided to paper-piece her arms and legs with this great towel-like texture specialty paper (-- for which I have looked high and low at the craft stores and LSS because this stuff has been in my stash forever and not only can I not find any, I have no idea what company makes it, etc.) and I created her perfectly pink tutu from pink lace. The background paper is from Love Elsie (from KI Memories) and it's called Betty in Love. It is embossed with hearts (and I cut it with SB Nestie large scallop circles). The sentiment is a DCWV rub-on. I used 1/8" inch ribbon for the ballet slippers and 5/8" pink satin ribbon around the box and to make the bow in the corner.
So, now I'm off to create baby shower invitations which I will hopefully finish by Sunday.
Have a great weekend! <3 Lisa

Pastels - NO PINK - Challenge at A Day For Daisies...What? NO PINK!?
Hello All! A new challenge and new images are released today at A Day For Daisies. Boy, the new challenge was definitely tricky for me. You are to use pastel colors in your project but there's a catch ---a major catch in my opinion *snicker*---- NO PINK. Yes, it's true, PINK is barred from this challenge. Say it isn't so. I'm outraged - LOL :). I LOVE PINK but I actually pulled this one off. Thank goodness for lavender! I used "Lazy Summer" and colored it up with all the 000 and 0000 copics I have in all colors (except pink..grrr) :D Then, I had this cute little wood shadow box so I painted it up with white acrylic paint and added a printed paper frame (cut with square SB Nesties). I made the flower from the same paper and added a couple fabric flowers and glitter embellishments. Overall, I'm really liking it even if there isn't pink in there ;)
Please be sure to check out the A Day For Daisies website for the wonderful new releases and please play along with us over at the A Day For Daisies blog!
Happy Friday!!! <3 Lisa

Can I Keep Him!?
Isn't this the cutest little mermaid and seal EVAH!? I love mermaids and when I saw Amber Ink's BABY MERMAID collections I had to have them! This little cutie is asking her Mermommy if she can keep that little lost seal - so stinkin' adorable :) I'm entering this card in a few challenges:
Cute Card Thursday Challenge #169 - use birthstone colors: I've used peridot and aquamarine
Hooked on Craft Challenges Challenge #1 - Anything Goes
Make It Monday Challenge #42 - Anything Goes
Everybody Art Challenge #147 - Anything Goes
Southern Girls Challenge #21 - Anything Goes
Here are the deets for the card -- digital stamp from Amber Ink, colored with copics and mermaid tail embellished with sequins and Glossy Accents. The ocean print paper is from Creative Imaginations (I couldn't find the name but here is the sku #2692728238). I cut it with an oval nestie but wanted some of the images left attached (turtle, fish, and bubbles!). I popped the oval with foam (cut using a nestie too). The cardstock is Bazzill - the background cardstock was embossed with Fiskars Texture Plates (waves). The glitter frame cut with Grand Nesties squares from Recollections Signature glitter paper in powder. The "seaweed" is Celebrate It Mariposa polyester ribbon and the sentiment was copied onto Shrinky Dinks film (with a Sharpie) and heated using my heat gun.
Hope your week is going well (and yes, I'm counting down to Friday ;) ! <3 Lisa
