My attempt at a CAS card...
I'm sorry for such a quick post; the last week has been really crazy! My niece graduated high school so we went to her graduation and then moved her here for school. She's had a change of heart -- Indiana is a long way from Virginia -- so she will be heading back in a few weeks. I know it's tough to figure out your life right after high school. I think it's better for her to know now she'd rather be at home than to have started here and been miserable..at least that's what I hope!
I found some time to craft and wanted to try my hand at a clean and simple card. I used Doodle Pantry's mariposa lily (from the Lily Collection) image. It is colored with Prismacolor pencils and blended with Gamsol. I actually colored two of them and then layered them for a 3D effect (3D is so "in" now - LOL!). The sentiment is a $1 Studio G rubber stamp; I stamped on Gina K pure luxury card stock and then layered with foam and a frame. The gem is from Studio 18 (again the dollar bins at Michaels!).
I have some really cute cards and projects to share so I will hopefully get to this week!

The Little Mermaid -- A Day For Daisies Style!
I love Tammy's mermaids and today she is releasing her Fairy Tale version of The Little Mermaid! I'm in Heaven :) Here is my card using, "He Loves Me; He Loves Me Not." She is colored with copics and her tail is embellished with Doodlebug chunky glitter (I mixed lime, royal blue, and light blue) I made a Center Step card using this tutorial from Splitcoast Stampers. I used printed papers by American Crafts (clouds #35107) and Imaginisce (Ocean Motion #002123), Bazzill cardstock (blue calypso), translucent vellum in pastel blue (sentiment), and Mudd Puddles sand paste (Malibu Beach). Please be sure to check out the other incredible inspiration by the ADFD DT and also check out the other amazing images available today!!!

New and Wonderous Things...
A new challenge begins today at A Day For Daisies and it is to use a digi in a brand new-to-you way. I wanted to try my hand at coloring on fabric with my copics. I had some plain white Onesies left over from one of the diaper cakes I made this year so I laundered them and got to work.
I used Tammy's, "New Things," digi (it's a new release available today AND it's this week's $2 dollar deal!). I cropped and sized a portion of the image and printed it onto plain computer paper. I cut out the image and taped it to my light box:

Next, I pulled the Onesie over the light box and position it over the image:
Using a copic multiliner, I traced the image onto the fabric:
Finally, I colored with my copics. I noticed that the fabric will absorb the ink quickly and it was easy to over saturate it which would make the ink bleed outside the lines. I found if I just blotted color onto the image working from the middle of the image outward and not quite to the lines, it was much easier to keep the ink from bleeding. I used my heat gun frequently as I went along to dry the ink which also helped. If you notice, the purple flower (my first attempt) bled outside the lines:
but as I experimented with the blotting and drying, by the time I made the last onesie (pink flower), there was hardly any bleeding at all:
I made the box they are displayed in using my Cricut and the Tags, Boxes, Bags & More cartridge (matchbox cut, fit to page) and made a card to complete the set.
So, what new technique will you come up!? I sure hope you'll give it a try and enter the challenge at A Day For Daisies. You will want to check out the other inspiration from the ADFD Design Team too :) Happy Crafting, <3 Lisa
***Edited to ADD - I noticed that the post on A Day For Daisies indicated I used copics to color iron-ons and wanted to clarify that I did NOT use any type iron-on product. The t-shirt iron-on sheets you can put through your printer cannot be used with your copics because it will ruin the marker nibs! This is why I opted to trace the image :) ***

A Clear Umbrella...
I saw an umbrella at Target and I am in love with it - it's clear plastic with silver trim and it looks like a giant bubble! (here is one like it: ElieBrellas) I haven't bought it yet; I don't have the best luck with umbrellas. I either forget them in the coat closet and *IF* I remember to grab one, I'll forget it and leave it somewhere else. Once, I actually had one pulled inside out by whipping whooping wind just like in the cartoons! So while I haven't made the investment, I haven't stopped thinking about it LOL! :D At least it served as the inspiration for the one I made for this Amber Ink digi, "Rainy Day" girl -- a clear bubble umbrella that smartly matches her rain coat and Wellies :) I am entering this card in the Wee Memories Challenge #59 (WMC59) - sponsored by Amber Ink. The image was colored with copics and then covered with glossy accents; the sentiment (Whimsy Stamps rubber stamp) was stamped in Teal Staz On on Papertrey Ink paper (ocean tides) and the rhinestone raindrops are from Martha Stewart.
Now I'm off to finish the favors for my niece's high school graduation! I hope to be able to post those in the next day or so :) Happy crafting! <3 Lisa
**edited to add - the cloud background paper is American Crafts (Skyline Park - Glitter #35235) and the striped paper is DCWV Cafe Mediterranean stack**

Card Details:
My card previews "Plush Panda" and he's colored with copics. I made the card with the recessed window using a tutorial from Splitcoast Stampers (here) and Bazzill cardstock (Mud Pie and Lily Pond). The sentiment was rubber stamped using a Studio G (yes one of those $1 stamps out of the bin at Michaels!!) and Staz On olive green ink. The bamboo shoots and 3D leaves were cut using my Cricut and the Life's a Beach cartridge (I added extra color and accents to the bamboo with copics). Finally, the strip of printed paper comes from the DCWV Safari Chic stack.
Double The Fun! Two Cards for A Day Daisies New Releases Today!!
I have two cards to share with you today; one for A Day For Daisies Special release -the images all center around the story of Rapunzel *and* the other is an image from the June Club Kit! AwEsOmE! My first card features "Rapunzel Playing." I used Dear Lizzie fabric paper to paper-piece Rapunzel's dress and the rest is colored with copics. The bubbles were painted first with Smooch illuminate and then covered with Glossy Accents and then I sprinkled Doodlebug chunky glitter over that. I made the flower from SEI dp (petite pinafore) and used the tutorial from the Craft, Life & Laughs Blog.
My next card features the image, "Comfort" from the ADFD June club kit. I am in love with these pandas! That little baby panda looks so vulnerable it just pulls at my heart! :) I used a Bazzill A7 pre-cut card and printed paper from DCWV Safari Chic stack for the background. The "ferns" on either side of the log is a prima
paper flower, cut in half and tucked behind the image. I made this for my niece and wanted it to be personal so I hand wrote the sentiment.
So there you have it; please head on over to ADFD and see all the other amazing images available today!
Happy Friday <3 Lisa
